My Immune Support Tea!

We’re in what is supposed to be the coldest month of the year in Tennessee! Today I was outside washing 2 skunky dogs in short sleeves!  Weather is weird!

I wanted to quickly share my own personal recipe for a tea that stimulates and supports your own immune system.  This is my go to winter tea!   I also drink it often throughout the year, especially if I feel like I’ve been around sick people!

You can grow these herbs or find them online…I recommend Mountain Rose Herbs or Starwest Botanicals for fresh organic herbs! You MUST use organic herbs when making herbal remedies!  Otherwise you can introduce chemicals or who knows what else that could compromise your health even further!  Organic! Trust me!

I hope you enjoy one of my favorite personal blends!

My Immune Support Tea!

Immune Support Tea by The Essential Herbalist

Description

This is a wonderful winter tea to keep your immune system strong! Mix this up well and keep in an airtight container (I love canning jars!) for easy use!

Ingredients

Scale

1 oz Alfalfa

1 oz Red clover

2 oz Burdock root cut

1 oz St. John’s Wort tops

1 oz Echinacea root cut

2 oz Echinacea tops

2 oz Peppermint leaf

1 oz Nettle leaf

1 oz Dandelion root cut

1 oz Astragalus root cut

1 oz Spearmint leaf

Instructions

Place all of the above in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.  Store in air-tight containers. Use 1 heaping teaspoon or more to 1 cup of hot filtered water.  Do not boil your water – heat to just before boiling. Pour the water over the herbs in your mug and cover and let steep for 10 min.  Sweeten with honey or stevia but please no sugar (it suppresses your immune system!). It is delicious without sweetener…nice and minty!

Notes

This makes approximately one pound of tea.  Put in pretty jars with a ribbon and a tag and give as gifts! Drink daily during winter or when you feel your health has been compromised!
